Hadley Wood is a superbly designed golf course, with excellent clubhouse facilities, all set in a beautiful parkland location that is only 30 minutes from London. The 18 hole par 72 course was laid out by Dr Alister MacKenzie, the world renowned golf course Architect and designer of Augusta National, home of The Masters, and has been described as “An absolute gem.” by Golf World. Coir Rolls Case Study – Victoria Park facelift

Part of the planned works included restoration to the main pond and surrounding area, the first step was to drain and desilt the pond, overtime it had lost its capacity due to heavy silting. Next new stone walls were built all-around the lakes banks, and the surrounding slopes were landscaped to provide grassed areas leading up to the water’s edge. Stone pathways were installed, and original features were in reinstalled on monuments along its surrounding walkways. Read more

On a recent visit to Kingfisher, our growing facility in Shere, close to our Albury Office we took a number of images of the Coir Rolls.

We start with the imported Coir and grow a selection of UK native plants in the rolls.

River Wye Restoration

Flooding events within The Rye parkland due to bank failures within the River Wye, caused the local council to seek advice in the form of ECI provided by Land and Water allowing a proposal for restoration on four sections of embankment. Land and Water were successful at competitive tender stage to install primarily coir, post and faggot and Nicospan revetments. Read more

Canch Park Environmental Improvement Scheme

As part of “The Canch Environmental Improvement Scheme” Land & Water Services were contracted to carry out dredging & environmental enhancement works on the river Ryton running through the Canch park for Bassetlaw district council.
The enhancement works included dredging 335 metres of river bed to a depth of 1.2M and removing 400m3 of silts, the instruction from the client was to retain and use all the dredged silts on site as part of a solution to provide new vegetated ledges, which run the full length down one side of the river bank.
