One in four homeless people spends Christmas alone, and more than 24,000 people in Britain spend Christmas sleeping rough, on public transport, or in tents.
Sleeping rough is incredibly dangerous, but in winter when temperatures drop it’s even worse. So this Christmas we thought we’d do something to help. We contacted the charity Crisis at Christmas who operate emergencies shelters over the Christmas period to see what they needed.
Good second-hand clothing including coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves were amongst the things required. Generous donations from our staff filled nine large boxes.
These were then delivered into the Crisis warehouse for distribution to those that needed it. A member of our staff volunteered to help at one of the Crisis Centres in London for two nights and confirmed that our donations were very well received. It’s good to know that we helped people to stay warm this winter.
