Caltha (ancient Greek for goblet) palustris (Latin for ‘of a marsh’) is a low growing, often clumping perennial of damp and boggy places. It is generally semi evergreen and frost resistant. Flowers appear from March to August often repeating and it is an important source of pollen and nectar for bees and butterflies.
