What should you consider?
There are many things to be considered when planting either a new watercourse or boosting an already established scheme.
You should think about the type of material you’re planting into; water depth, whether the plants will be in the shade, partial shade or full sun, the height of the plants and the size of the plants to be used.
The wildlife that inhabit your water course, such as frogs and newts, should also be taken into consideration. Plants bring a watercourse to life not only enhancing the landscape and providing biodiversity and habitat, but also providing stunning visual enjoyment for the observer.
What is the process?
The first step is for you to email us photos of your pond or lake. This gives us an indication of your requirements and allows us to work closely with you and make sure we interpret your vision – whether it’s the creation of a natural wildlife pond or a traditional lake.
Having asked the questions and assessed the location and environment, we are then able to make suggestions as to a variety of species we consider suitable along with planting ratios.
Planting
Once you have selected and chosen the plants you’d like, our team of experienced staff will install them on site at the optimum time of year to allow the plants to establish and mature.
If you’re looking to attract bees and butterflies, then be sure to let us know so that we can select the appropriate plants.
All that’s left to do then is to sit back and enjoy your gorgeous, revitalised lake with a glass (or cup) of something nice.
